WHERE TO HUNT IN IDAHO
UPDATE 5/25/2012: The 2012 Idaho Elk Report is only available by request. Contact me for information.
Thinking about elk or deer hunting in Idaho, but don’t know where to start? I don’t know how many times I run into folks posting on hunting forums something like this:
I’m wanting to hunt Unit 17 in Idaho’s Selway wilderness, and would appreciate any tips. Not looking for GPS coords for your honey hole. Just want some general direction.
Depending on the forum, that person might get some helpful advice. Well, at IDAHOMAN, you can get specific and in-depth analysis of Idaho’s elk and deer hunting. Ask the questions here. They are welcome.
On this site you will find a wealth of information on hunting in Idaho, concentrated like nowhere else. Sure, you can go to IF&G’s Hunt Planner website. And that will give you some stats. But trust me, those stats take some interpretation. Answers to specific questions about herd health, populations, and areas in Idaho to hunt are not easy to come by. Do I have all the answers? Mostly. And for the ones I don’t have, I can get.
If you’ve never hunted in Idaho, I can help you find the right place. If you have hunted Idaho, but are curious about other hunting areas within the state, I can help. It’s not guiding, it’s consulting.
To get the ball rolling, email me at idahomansite@live.com, or use the [Contact Form]. Once all of your questions are answered, or once you get the custom report that you want, and you are satisfied, then please consider coming back here to donate to the cause. Donating helps keep this place alive. Donate as you can, and for whatever amount the information you receive is worth to you. Actually, it will be worth millions, but if all you have is some beer money to spread, it would be welcome.
Here’s just some of the feedback that I’ve gotten:
